Elections Scheduled for
Regions II, VIII, IX, & X

Columbus, OH - Elections for the Region I, IV, VII, and XI NIFA council representative positions will be held at the regional SAFECONS this fall. The term of office for this election will be from July 1, 2013 until June 30, 2016. As specified by NIFA By-law 2.4, regional council member duties include:

•	Ensure that a regional SAFECON is conducted in that region each year.
•	Ensure that a regional business meeting is conducted in conjunction with the regional SAFECON.
•	Attend at least one NIFA Council meeting annually and perform on assigned committees. Council meetings are held in September, January, and at the national SAFECON.
•	Ensure that only NIFA member schools in good standing compete at their region’s SAFECON.

In accordance with NIFA By-laws all nominees must meet the following qualifications:

•	Must reside in the region he/she represents or be officially affiliated with a member institution within that region.
•	Must have participated in some capacity in at least one national or regional SAFECON.

Persons insterested in running for the council member position in one of these four regions will need to complete a NIFA Council Representative Application and attend the regional business meeting held during the week of competition for that region. They will also need to have their name place in nomination by one of the rhe region's member schools.
